Winding Up of CHILDLINE Services

The rescue and rehabilitation service for children in need of care and protection — ASMITA CHILDLINE — concluded on 31 August 2023. The Ministry of Women and Child Development decided to take over the service through the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) across the nation.

As part of this transition, all partner units phased out their services, with the Varanasi unit completing its final service on 31 August, marking the end of a 16-year effort. ASMITA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all allied systems for their collaboration and support throughout this period.

On 1 September 2023, a gathering of partners was held at ASMITA as the final step of winding up the services.
