ASMITA conducted a baseline survey in the month of January 2022 in ten slums of Varanasi city concerning health issues focusing on women. This survey showed that 67.36 % of the children below the age of 10, in the slums, were underfed and malnourished, and 71.8% of the women suffer from anemia and malnutrition. Pregnant women are in the high-risk category concerning their motherhood and daily intake of food. The condition in the slums is much worse.
