Program Details | ASMITA is initiating a new program for the empowerment of the youth in the slums. The goal of the project is – To provide holistic support to all adolescents (800-900), in 10 Varanasi slums by forming their groups, enhancing their knowledge of rights and entitlements and community development. Young boys and girls from the groups will undertake vocational training to start earning. Over the next 3-5 years, the plan is to build a cadre of 80-100 young leaders across the 10 slums who can support the community on various issues. Expects results are – All adolescents (~800-900) formed into youth clubs, and will continue education, and build their knowledge on nutrition, health and gender violence.Young boys and girls (~200) trained to initiate formal work and earn.~90 peer leaders will take initiatives on local issues of their own slums. such as water logging, drinking water access, drainage, and sewage.Adolescents will strengthen community harmony through film screenings, street plays, sports competitions, and school enrollment initiatives, with access to scholarships. | ||

Excellent communication skills Proven ability to deal with multiple tasks in a courteous and service-oriented manner in a demanding working condition.Deep understanding of trauma-informed care and the ability to provide support to individuals dealing with emotional, psychological, or social challenges. | ||
