Widows are a neglected section of society. It's the same case with well-to-do families and poor families as well. If she is left with no children then her life is too sad. Widows who are elderly suffer much. They go through the pain of being left alone besides economical poverty. We have surveyed the slums of Varanasi, we found many widows who are not been supported by their family members hence they are in extreme need of guidance and support. We feel very much to help them in different ways. We have identified 210 widows from our target area who need our support. We are supporting 210 poor elderly widows to the best of our capacity. Initially, we bring them at regular intervals to our center, listen to their joys and sorrows, and have a meal with them. We also provide them regularly with food kits a saree, blouse, blanket, etc. It costs us Rs. 900.00 (Nine Hundred Only) per person for a food kit.
