Varanasi, January 2, 2024 — ASMITA, in collaboration with Sai Ma Trust, organized a free eye camp aimed at providing essential eye care to underserved residents from Varanasi’s slums. This community initiative brought together individuals from 25 slum areas, with ASMITA’s animators coordinating efforts to ensure that those most in need received support.
During the camp, 160 individuals underwent eye examinations, resulting in 103 people being provided with corrective eyeglasses. Additionally, 21 individuals were identified for further surgical intervention and are scheduled for operations on January 4 at a facility in Mughalsarai.
This camp offered invaluable assistance to the elderly and those with limited resources, ensuring that critical eye care was accessible to a community often lacking medical support.
