ASMITA Hosts Training Session for ASHA and ANM Workers to Strengthen Maternal Health Support in Varanasi
Varanasi, 29/09/2023 — As part of its ongoing health awareness and sensitization efforts, ASMITA organized a one-day training session for ASHA and ANM workers from selected urban areas in Varanasi. Held at the CMO office, the session aimed to enhance collaboration between ASMITA and local healthcare workers to better serve pregnant and lactating mothers in the community. By linking cases identified by ASMITA to nearby ASHA and ANM workers, the program facilitates access to government health programs and mutual support.
The training, attended by 33 participants, was inaugurated by Dr. S.K. Pandey, Deputy CMO of Varanasi, who emphasized the importance of coordinated maternal health efforts. Special thanks were extended to Mrs. Akriti for her session on nutrition and to Archana Gaur for her insights on yoga. The UNICEF team also contributed valuable support, underscoring a shared commitment to improving maternal and child health in Varanasi.
