ASMITA Distributes Blankets to Widows in Need, Reaches 428 Women This Year

Varanasi, January 5, 2023 — ASMITA continued its commitment to supporting vulnerable women by distributing blankets to 75 widows from 12 slums across Varanasi. This initiative aims to provide warmth and comfort to elderly women and widows, who are often among the most marginalized in the community.

The blanket distribution event took place at the ASMITA campus and was led by Meenu Singh, Sub-Inspector at Sigra Police Station, who participated in the initiative to show solidarity with the recipients. With this recent distribution, ASMITA has reached a total of 428 women with blankets this year, reinforcing its dedication to improving the lives of those in need. This effort highlights ASMITA’s ongoing mission to uplift and empower vulnerable populations within the city.
